About Alex Doyle

The artist behind Iannello Artwork

I am Alex Doyle, a British contemporary artist working primarily in acrylics. My paintings explore the interplay of light, colour and perspective, drawing inspiration from natural landscapes, seascapes and urban environments.

Through my work, I aim to capture the atmosphere and character of the places that inspire me, creating paintings that invite viewers to pause and discover their own connection with each scene.

Inspired by the world around me

Nature has always been an important source of inspiration for my art. Walking through woodlands, across the fells and over open moorland gives me the opportunity to slow down and appreciate the details of the natural world.

My visits to family in Italy and Australia provide another important source of inspiration. The changing light, colours and atmosphere of these places continually encourage me to explore new subjects in my painting.

Whether I am painting a landscape, a seascape or a city scene, I am drawn to the qualities that make a particular moment memorable.

Why Iannello?

I sign my paintings Iannello, my mother’s maiden name, in her memory, in honour of the wonderful gift of life she gave me.

My mother’s name was Letteria Iannello, and she was born in Sicily. Using her name as my artistic identity is a way of keeping that connection alive and carrying something deeply personal into my creative work.

For me, Iannello Artwork is more than a name. It represents a personal story, a family connection and my continuing journey as an artist.
