I am always in awe of the power of the sea. This painting is inspired by the many beaches in New South Wales, Australia where huge breakers leave you in no doubt of the immense forces at play. Even more remarkable is watching surf boarders who seem effortlessly to master the waves. Personally I willContinue reading “Waves”

Art Wall
This is my new art wall in my studio. At last I have space to hang all my paintings. Currently exhibiting at Goose Green Gallery in Altrincham near Manchester, UK.
Goose Green Gallery
A fresh look to my exhibits at the Goose Green Gallery in Altrincham, South Manchester. “Rainy Day”, “Tranquillity” and “Freedom” are now on display, each framed in black with a cream mount. Goose Green Gallery has had an excellent makeover featuring new branding and signage. For anyone living in the south Manchester area who isContinue reading “Goose Green Gallery”
Rainy Day
My latest offering fresh off the easel. Living in Manchester in the UK it was inevitable that rain would have to feature in at least some of my paintings. This is the view sitting, warm and dry in a café or restaurant, looking out on a bleak and wet day.
Mother and Child
I painted “Mother and Child” over 50 years ago. It was my first serious portrait painting and I remember being very unsure of my ability to capture the proud and resolute look on mother’s face. Unfortunately the surface was damaged some years ago whilst the painting was in storage
Some Sun to Brighten the Day
Sun, sea and a wealth of colour. This painting always gives me a warm glow on a wet and cold winter’s day.
Pomegranates
A little Italian sun to brighten your day A year or two ago I stayed in a Trullo in Puglia in Italy. The grounds of the Trullo were extensive and planted with a host of exotic and beautiful plants and trees including a beautiful Pomegranate tree in front of the house. The tree demanded toContinue reading “Pomegranates”
La Briscola e il Telefonino
Last year I was sitting outside a bar in Calabria enjoying a cold beer on a beautiful summer’s day in August. There were two groups near me at adjacent tables and I was fascinated by the vastly different level of social interaction within each group. To my right were seven local men playing “La Briscola”Continue reading “La Briscola e il Telefonino”
Southwark Bridge
Happy New Year to art lovers everywhere. My first offering of 2023. This is a view of Southwark Bridge looking in a westward direction with St Paul’s cathedral in the distance. At dusk the bridge starts a light show, an amazing sight and experience as the lights are softly reflected on the Thames. As theContinue reading “Southwark Bridge”
